Cocktails by the pool sound like your kind of vacation? How about snorkeling in crystal clear water? Or maybe chasing waterfalls is more your scene? Whatever tickles your fancy, Bali is the ultimate destination for a short getaway with your girl gang.

Now, normally the idea of planning a holiday to suits everyone's tastes can be daunting, but Bali is one of those rare destinations that caters for all types of travelers and budgets.

When I started planning my own bachelorette, Bali was the number one on my list; luxury villa, pretty cocktails, fabulous cafe scene, a vibrant nightlife and stunning scenery - what more could a girl want!

Go all out and book yourself a luxury villa for you and girls. If you are travelling with a group of people, you don't want to be isolated in separate hotel rooms. Villas in Bali are very affordable and oh so stylish. Big enough that you can have your own room and ensuite, but with the convenience and good times of sharing common spaces - usually with your own private pool!

We stayed in a three-story Airbnb villa in north Seminyak which was very central to restaurants, beach clubs and shops; and just back off a main road so we could always flag down transport easily when needed. I would recommend this place, super clean and the caretaker lives right door and can help with anything you need.

One of the perks of having your own villa is being able to throw a private pool party, complete with bartender (and all the floaties you can fit in your suitcase).

I strongly recommend the guys at CocoLoco in Bali for all your cocktail needs. The cocktail creations they serve up are to die for and if you're lucky, you might just get treated to some poolside party tricks. The guys are also great behind the camera and are happy to snap a some pics for you throughout the day.

How does it work? You buy the liquor, they bring the rest. Most people buy their spirits duty free at the airport when they arrive, but we personally found it to be cheaper in the liquor stores in town.

Bali has a thriving cafe scene and are again, very affordable. Make the most of it and eat out each morning, or at least more than once.

My top recommendations are:

Coffee Cartel My personal fave, we ate here twice in five day. Good food, top service, bloody good coffee. And for added convenience, this place was right next to our Airbnb.

Order: Vegan Smak Hotcakes (AKA the prettiest pancakes ever) + a Pink Chai

Sisterfields A trendy Australian style cafe located in the heart of bali. A little more upmarket and a true foodie heaven.

Order: a plate of Polenta Fries for sharing

KYND Community More than just a hotspot for instragrammers and this plant-based cafes serves fresh juices and delicious healthy food, which your body will be craving after all those cocktails!

Order: any one of their fresh juices. The Golden Hour is amaze.

Neon Palms is located in central Seminyak and sits above a cute clothing boutique and has both inside and outside dining options.

Spending the day at beach club is a fun and relaxing way to spend some quality time with your girls. There are so many options to choose from, so do some research and choose one that suits your style and the kind of atmosphere you are going for. If you want to reserve a day bed (which I highly recommend you do), the reservation fee can be a little steep so its worth a little planning ahead. Also, some day beds do book out, so I wouldn't leave this to the last minute if this is a must-do on your trip.

Potato Head right on the beachfront, serves great cocktails and has some killer sunsets

Tropicola new on the scene but a great day-time venue, so bright and colourful

Finns multiple pools, beach front views, super-Instagramable and comes alive after dark

Oh my, where do I start. Seminyak has a thriving nightlife with fabulous restaurants and bars. The hardest decision is choosing where to go because there are soooo many options.

Motel Mexicola goes off. This is my number one place for a good time in Seminyak. Head upstairs first to get a light feed, a round of margaritas and a tequila shot to wash it all down. Then make your way down stairs to the dance floor (or just dance on the table!)

This is a great opportunity to get away from the hustle bustle of Seminyak and see more of the natural beauty that Bali has to offer. Think crystal clear water in every shade of blue and all the tropical vibes.

Perfect for snorkeling, there is an abundance of underwater sea life to discover - fish, shells, starfish and if you are lucky, manta rays.

We booked a day-trip tour to visit some of the best spots for snorkeling around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Cenigan.

Ubud is very do-able as a day trip from Seminyak. We hired a driver who chauffeured us around for the day from location to location. What's App is commonly used and we found this easy to stay in touch with our driver for drop off/pick ups throughout the day. Things to do during an Ubub day trip include:

  • Monkey Forest

  • Tegalalang Rice Terraces

  • Ubud Market

  • Tegenungan Waterfall

If you love to be pampered there is no shortage of quality day spas in Bali. We visited Prana Spa on our last day and combined our visit with a lunch at the adjoining restaurant. This was a good way to spend a few hours before we hit the airport for our flight home.
